Mysore Palace:
Palace in the heart of city, is a three storied structure in the Indo-Saracenic
Style built between 1897-1912 . It was designed by the English architect Henry Irwin. There is a Residential Museum in the premises of palace which displays the articles and belongings of the Maharaja family. Palace is illuminated on Sundays, Public Holidays and during Dasara.

Krishnarajasagar (KRS) dam was built across river Cauvery in the year 1924, under the supervision of chief engineer, Sir M. Vishweshwaraiah. KRS is around 18 kms from Mysore. Brindavan gardens located below the dam is the best example of terrace garden in the country. It includes botanical garden, water fountains and also boat ride. Best time to visit is around 4:30 pm so that the enjoy the beauty of garden and late in the evening enjoy musical fountain (Dancing water with color and music).

Chamundi Hills
The hill is 3,489ft. above the sea levels and is 12 km from Mysore city. You have good road which leads to the top of the hill. You can also reach the temple of Sri Chamundeshwari Devi atop the hill by climbing 1000 steps. Devi is also known as Mahishasura Mardini. You can see the statue of Mahishasura as soon as you reach the top of hill.
You can reach the Bull temple (Nandi), which is 300 steps down the hill, with connectivity of road.

ZOO
Mysore Zoo, also known as Chamarajendra Zoological garden, was started by Raja Chamaraja Wodeyar X in 1892. One can see many imported birds and animals. If you are a animal lover, you can adopt an animal/bird and take care of the feeding expenses for certain time. Name of the animal, adopter and origin is displayed in front of every cage.
Adjacent to Zoo is Karanji Lake which attracts variety of birds migrating from different locations. Boating facility is available in the lake. You can also find Butterfly garden there.

St.Philomena’s church
This is a Roman Catholic Church built around 1840 AD. Church is located about 1 Km from Mysore Palace.

Jagan Mohan Palace
This is a famous art gallery located in the heart of the city. It is walkable distance from the main palace.
You can find the original oil paintings of Raja Ravi Varma of Travancore. Also you can see the paintings of many other Indian artists.
